Belarusian-American SME forum in progress in USA

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – A delegation of representatives of Belarusian business circles led by Chairman of the Presidium of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship Vladimir Karyagin is in the USA on 24-28 April for the sake of taking part in a Belarusian-American small and medium business forum, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Members of the delegation took part in bilateral events in Washington on 24 April. Members of the delegation met with top officials of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE). A presentation of proposals of Belarusian companies was arranged. The agreement on CIPE assisting with organizing an international entrepreneurship conference in Minsk in May 2017 was confirmed.

The Belarusian businessmen visited the startup incubator 1776 where proposals of Belarusian companies were presented and support for Belarusian startups was discussed.

On 25-26 April the Belarusian delegation took part in business events in Philadelphia as part of the 21st Eurasian-American Innovation Technology Week. Representatives of the Philadelphia city administration, innovation companies, and major research and education institutions attended the event.

Apart from that, the Belarusian delegation took part in the Hermes Expo, visited the headquarters of the largest telecommunication company Comcast, and the business incubator of the University City Science Center of Philadelphia.

Events of the Belarusian-American small and medium business forum will continue in New York on 27-28 April. Members of the delegation will visit entrepreneurship support organizations, including a venture fund.
