Belarus, Russia's Kostroma Oblast to sign agreement on cooperation in economy, science

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Belarus has plans to develop trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural cooperation with Russia's Kostroma Oblast. Resolution No.742 of the Council of Ministers of 20 September 2016, which has been published on the National Legal Internet Portal, attests to this, BelTA has learned.

The document reads that Belarus' Council of Ministers has accepted the idea, proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and coordinated with the Justice Ministry and other government agencies concerned, to sign an agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, and culture between the Government of Belarus and the Kostroma Oblast Administration.

BelTA reported earlier that in June 2016, Kostroma played host to a meeting of a Belarusian delegation with local government authorities. The parties discussed promising cooperation areas and opportunities for joint projects. The Belarusian side stressed its readiness to supply passenger elevators, road building, construction and municipal vehicles and equipment to Russia's Kostroma Oblast and increase dairy, meat and vegetable exports to the region.
