MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – In January-May 2016, Belarus increased the import of Russian crude oil to 9.6 million tonnes, up by 1.4% from the same period in 2015, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
In January-May, the country bought $1.9 billion worth of oil, which is 73.4% of the cost of the oil Belarus bought in January-May 2015. The average price for one tonne of oil stood at $199.6. In January-May 2015, it was $275.8.
Belarus imported 556,000 tonnes of oil products, up by 37.2% from January-May 2015, to the total tune of $173.8 million. The average price was $312.8 per tonne against $388.5 in January-May 2015.
Over the first five months of 2016, Belarus exported 673,000 tonnes of oil, up by 0.1% from the same period in 2015. The exported oil earned the country almost $167.9 million (down by 36.7%).
Apart from that, Belarus exported 7,591.000 tonnes of oil products (down by 0.2%) worth $2 billion against $3.1 billion over the same period a year earlier.
