Belarus' Mozyr to host economic forum on 14 June

GOMEL, 9 June (BelTA) – An economic forum will run in the town of Mozyr, Gomel Oblast on 14 June, BelTA learned from Natalya Shut, Head of Economy Department at the Mozyr District Executive Committee.

Azerbaijan, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, and some other countries have confirmed that their respective delegations will partake in the event. The organizers also expect to host a large group of Russian business representatives along with an official delegation of Ukraine's Zhytomir Oblast and businessmen from different Belarusian regions. “They are set to consider over 20 projects in real economy, service sector, trade, construction, and healthcare. They will be also informed about the facilities out of operation and land plots that can be acquired to develop business,” Natalya Shut noted.

The participants will also visit Mozyr's major enterprises: Mozyr Salt Plant, Mozyr Dairy Plant, Belaruskabel, and Mozyr Wood Processing Plant. They are expected to attend the 12th national fair Paleskaya Skarbnitsa (Treasures of Polesye) due in Mozyr on 13-16 June.

The Mozyr Economic Forum is the second largest event of its kind in Gomel Oblast after the Gomel Economic Forum traditionally held in May. In 2017 the latter resulted in a $3 million worth investment agreement on setting up a polymer coating company in Mozyr District. “This illustrates once again the city's favorable investment climate,” Natalya Shut summarized.
