Belarus' knitwear to go on display at 4th Forum of Regions in Moscow

BREST, 14 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian textile company Polesye plans to exhibit over 300 models of clothing at the 4th Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus due in Moscow on 29-30 June, BelTA learned from the company's director general Tatyana Lugina.

The Polesye company will showcase the products at two venues. The first one is set to offer for sale over 300 models of women's and children's apparel, namely summer knitwear made of flax, cotton, and acrylic fiber along with school uniform and textile (plaids, baby clothes and hats). The company will also showcase at the pavilion of the Bellegprom Concern where it will present its flax knitwear for men and women.

“We are working on new cooperation agreements ahead of the visit to Moscow. We have reached some preliminary ones so far. The participation in the forum will help us advertise our products, meet the partners, show them our new collections, and mull over the plans for the next season,” Tatyana Lugina underlined and added that the Polesye company has carved its own niche in the Russian market. It supplies yarn to Russia's southern and central regions. Polesye's major export item to Northwest and Central Russia is outwear.

The company exports some 70% of the output. Apart from Russia, the Polesye company sells into Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Baltic states. In January-May 2017 it sold $7.5 million worth of products abroad, up 30.5% from the same period of last year. At the moment Polesye is planning to branch into Germany. The enterprise is in talks with the German long-standing partners over the export of knitwear to that country.

The 4th Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus is expected to gather representatives of seven companies from Belarus' Brest Oblast.
