Belarus, Afghanistan to set up joint committee on trade, economic cooperation

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - Belarus and Afghanistan will set up a joint committee on trade and economic cooperation. An agreement between the governments of the two countries was signed by Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov and Chief Executive of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah, BelTA has learned.

“The signing of this agreement is landmark event. The joint committee on trade and economic cooperation will become an effective mechanism to promote trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries,” Andrei Kobyakov told journalists.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministries of Justice of Belarus and Afghanistan. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce of Afghanistan.
