Batura: Belarus exports 400 commodity items to Germany

NESVIZH, 24 June (BelTA) – Belarus exports 400 commodity items to Germany, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian public organization Twinned Towns, member of the Council of the Republic Boris Batura said speaking at the ninth meeting of Belarusian and German twin cities and towns in Nesvizh on 24 June, BelTA has learned.

“The commodity composition of the Belarusian export to the German market is diversified and relatively stable. Belarus exports 400 goods items to Germany. Belarus' main exports to Germany include mineral products (oil), basic metals and products made from them, chemical goods, products of the forestry and woodworking industry, machinery, equipment and vehicles,” said Boris Batura.

According to Boris Batura, despite the contraction of mutual export in 2014-2015 Germany is still one of Belarus' leading foreign trade partners.

Joint economic events are held on an annual basis with a view to intensifying the Belarusian-German trade and investment cooperation. These are, first of all, the meetings of the Belarusian-German working group on trade and investment, the Days of Belarusian Economy in Germany and the German Economy in Belarus, energy forums.

According to Boris Batura, exhibition events make big contribution to the development of business contacts between Belarus and Germany. Taking part in these events are businessmen and representatives of government bodies of the two countries. Every year Belarusian delegations visit big exhibitions in Germany such as the International Agricultural Fair, the tourism exchange, the exhibition of IT and telecommunications, Hannover Messe, the exhibition of home electronics, forestry and woodworking industry and the exhibition of agricultural equipment. The interest of the German business in Belarusian exhibitions has been steadily increasing as well.
