
MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Alina Zmushka of Belarus clinched a victory at the Mare Nostrum Swim Tour 2025 in Barcelona on 22 May, BelTA has learned.
On the second and final competition day in Spain the Belarusian swimmer showed the best time among 25 athletes to advance to the women’s 200m breaststroke final. Alina Zmushka touched in first in the final one second ahead of silver medalist Anna Elendt of Germany. Earlier, the Belarusian claimed bronze in the women’s 100m breaststroke and finished tenth in the women’s 50m breaststroke. Alina Zmushka won two gold medals at the first leg of the Mare Nostrum Swim Tour.
On 22 May, leader of the Belarusian national swimming team Ilya Shimanovich claimed bronze, clocking 1:00.25 in the men’s 100m breaststroke to finish behind Olympic champion Nicolo Martinenghi of Italy and Ludovico Viberti of Italy. Earlier, Ilya Shymanovich won the men’s 50m breaststroke. Following two legs of the Mare Nostrum Swim Tour 2025 Ilya Shymanovich has four medals: in Monaco last year the Belarusian won gold medals at the 50m and 100m breaststroke.
The Mare Nostrum Swim Tour 2025 will complete with a leg in Canet-en-Roussillon, France on 24-25 May.
