Yuriy Vernydub quits as FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk head coach

MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Ukrainian specialist Yuriy Vernydub has resigned from the post of the head coach of FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk. He resigned at his own will, due to family circumstances. Such information has been posted on the official website of the bronze medalists of the Belarusian championship, BelTA has learned.

Yuriy Vernidub's assistants Dmitriy Kara-Mustafa, Alexander Nogin, Igor Fokin and Valery Mikhailenko are also leaving. Now FC Shakhtar Soligorsk management is looking for a new coach.

Yuriy Vernidub was named FC Shakhtar head coach in November 2019. Under his tutelage the Soligorsk footballers scored 43 points in 22 games of the current Belarusian championship and, together with FC BATE Borisov, habe topped the tournament table. On 30 August, FC Shakhtyor defeated FC Gomel 4-1 to reach the Belarus Cup round of Last 16.
