MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarusian weightlifters Vadzim Likharad and Petr Asayonak secured silver medals at the 22nd Mediterranean CUP & IWF “Silver” Olympic Qualification Tournament in San Marino, BelTA has learned.
Vadzim Likharad (73kg weight category) placed second with the result of 327kg (151kg+176kg). Daniyar Ismayilov of Turkey clinched gold with the total of 335kg (154kg+181kg). Bronze went to Albania's Briken Calja – 326kg (151kg+175kg).
Petr Asayonak lifted the total of 340kg (152kg+188kg) to earn silver in the 81kg weight category. Albania's Erkand Qerimaj collected gold with the total of 346kg (156kg+190kg). Bronze went to Albania's Daniel Godelli – 331kg (150kg+181kg).
The next qualification competitions will be the Alexander Cup in Grodno in November.
