TOKYO, 2 August (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have been unable to qualify for the Men's Hammer Throw Final in Tokyo, BelTA has learned.
Ivan Tsikhan placed 18th (74.57), Yury Vasilchanka 19th (74) and Hleb Dudarau 27th (71.60).
The top three throwers after the qualification round were Wojciech Nowicki of Poland (79.78), Rudy Winkler of the USA (78.81) and
Eivind Henriksen of Norway (78.79).
Twelve best performers from two qualification groups advanced to the final. The final provides each thrower with three throws; the top eight throwers receive an additional three throws for a total of six, with the best to count.
