Sweden win Mixed Relay gold in Raubichi, Belarus clinch bronze

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) - Sweden has won gold in the Mixed Relay at the IBU Open European Championships in Raubichi, BelTA has learned.

Silver went to Germany, bronze to Belarus.

The Belarusian team included Dzinara Alimbekova, Anna Sola and also Roman Eletnov and Sergei Bocharnikov.

The Belarusian team was off to a good start. Dzinara Alimbekova took the lead and was the first to pass the baton to Anna Sola who replaced Iryna Kryuko. Roman Eletnov maintained momentum; however Sergei Bocharnikov was not very good at shooting missing two targets. As a result, he was outrun by the Swedes and Germans.

Sweden won the title with a result of 1:05.16 (0+8). Germany was back 17.1 seconds (0+6). Belarus was 29.8 seconds behind the winning time (0+6).

It was Belarus' second bronze at the 2019 IBU Open European Championships in Raubichi. Iryna Kryuko won the bronze medal in Women's 15K Individual on 20 February.

No events will be held at Raubichi on 22 February. Men's 10km Sprint and Women's 7.5km Sprint will take place on 23 February, while Men's 12.5km Pursuit and Women's 10km Pursuit and scheduled for 24 February.
