The marathon, which will be held for the eighth time already, has become an important cycling event in the region. On 21 July Augustow Canal will gather hundreds of amateur and professional riders. Applications have been submitted by about 700 people from Belarus, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia and Belgium.

“Applications are still open. Anyone can take part in the event. The main condition is a bike and a helmet,” the cycling association said. The program will feature a mini marathon of about 7km, a half marathon of 39km, a marathon of 65km and a 100m children's race.

The start and finish line is near Dombrovka Sluice. The routes will cover the most picturesque places of the canal.
