MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 32 Aliaksandra Sasnovich secured a 6-3, 6-1 win over Romania's world number 23 Mihaela Buzarnescu in the first round of the China Open, BelTA informs.
The match lasted for an hour and eight minutes. Aliaksandra Sasnovich will next face World No.7 Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic.
Belarus' world number 16 Aryna Sabalenka will kick off her China Open campaign in the second round against Spain's world number 14 Garbine Muguruza.
In the women's doubles round one Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Japan's Shuko Aoyama lost 6-3, 4-6, 3-10 to the American-German tandem of Raquel Atawo and Anna-Lena Gronefeld.
The tournament in the Chinese capital will be over on 7 October.
