MINSK, 7 January (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has moved up two spots in the updated WTA rankings in 2019, BelTA has learned.
A week ago Belarus' best tennis player was 13th; however, after she had claimed the winner's trophy at the season-opening Shenzhen Open in China she advanced two spots with 3,365 points. This week she will take on Petra Kvitova (WTA No.8) at the WTA Sydney International 2019.
Another Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich (WTA No.33) will face Russia's Daria Kasatkina (WTA No.10) in the first round match in Sydney.
