MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – National patterns will be added to the design of the 2019 European Games medals, Deputy Director of the 2019 Second European Games Directorate Anatoly Kotov said during an online conference hosted by BelTA on 25 October.
“The medals for the Second European Games are at the stage of development. It is planned that the design will feature national patterns. Some 10-15 sketches have been developed so far. We are doing our best to make the awards look bright and in a Belarusian style,” said Anatoly Kotov.
He also noted that one of the ideas that the organizers are mulling over is the awarding of a fern wreath. In his words, it is a great opportunity to unite the Belarusian traditions with the European symbols.
The Second European Games will be held in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019.
