TOKYO, 4 August (BelTA) – After advancing to the Women's Freestyle 57kg Final, Belarusian wrestler Iryna Kurachkina told reporters that her overall performance at the Tokyo Olympics can be assessed only after the final bout with Japanese wrestler Risako Kawai, BelTA has learned.
“We have coped with the first half of the task. I was close to losing the quarterfinal bout against Russian wrestler Valeria Koblova, but I knew how to reverse the situation and I finally managed to turn the match around. Now I need some rest, we will have a weigh-in and the final match tomorrow. Each of us is here to win and none of us is going to stop halfway,” the athlete said.
A reminder, Iryna Kurachkina defeated Evelina Georgieva Nikolova of Bulgaria in the Women's Freestyle 57kg Semifinal to guarantee at least silver.
