KHL: Dinamo Minsk lose to Moscow namesakes

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk lost to HC Dynamo Moscow 2-5 in the KHL regular-season match on 21 October, BelTA has learned.

Igor Martynov gave Minsk the lead on 2:40, but it took just 14 seconds for Artyom Volkov to tie the score. Although the home team went on to dominate play for the rest of the period, it was Yegor Sharangovich who grabbed a short-handed goal to restore Minsk's lead.

Dynamo responded early in the second with Mikhail Grigoryev leveling off the game. Then Vadim Shipachyov scored another one.

In the final stanza the Minskers replaced the goalie with an extra player on the ice in an attempt to catch up. Instead they got two goals into the empty net. Shipachyov got his second of the night before Dmitry Kagarlitsky finished the job.

This was the Bisons' third defeat in a row. HC Dinamo Minsk will next play HC CSKA Moscow on 23 October.
