Gerasimov, Ivashka into US Open qualifying round two

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Two Belarusian tennis players went off to a good start at the US Open qualifying in New York, BelTA has learned.

World number 125 Egor Gerasimov defeated World No.545 Stefan Kozlov of the United States 6-4, 6-4.

World number 143 Ilya Ivashka saw off Germany's world number 169 Mats Moraing 6-3, 6-0.

It is necessary to go through three qualifying rounds to reach the US Open main draw.
