MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Five Belarusian tennis players will start their Australian Open campaigns in the main draw, BelTA has learned.
In the women's event Belarus will be represented by Aryna Sabalenka (world number 13), Aliaksandra Sasnovich (30), Vera Lapko (65), and Victoria Azarenka (51) who won the Australian Open in 2012 and 2013.
Belarus' Ilya Ivashka (world number 92) will play in the men's event.
The Australian Open will take place on 14-27 January 2019. The tournament's prize pool will make up $60.5 million.
