Belarus claim silver in mixed relay at Russian Biathlon Championships

MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – Belarusian biathletes have claimed silver in the mixed relay at the 2026 Russian Championships in Tyumen, BelTA has learned.

Nineteen teams from various regions of Russia took to the start line, alongside three Belarusian quartets. The men’s team leader Anton Smolski did not take part in the race, with the main Belarusian lineup consisting of Dzinara Smolskaya, Hanna Sola, Mikita Labastau and Dzmitry Lazouski. Smolskaya completed the first leg in fifth place. By halfway, Sola had propelled Belarus into second. Labastau ended fourth, but on the final leg Lazouski fought his way back to the podium.

In the end, Dzmitry finished second, with the Moscow Oblast team (Anastasiia Khalili, Kristina Reztsova, Kirill Streltsov, Karimulla Khalili) claiming a commanding victory. The top three was rounded out by representatives of Tyumen Oblast. Another Belarusian squad consisting of Kseniya Varabei, Alena Kulak, Maksim Varabei and Ivan Tulatsin finished eighth. The third Belarusian quartet (Irina Shakleina, Viktoryia Shashkova, Stsiapan Danilau, Ilya Auseyenka) retired from the race.

The day before, Dzmitry Lazouski took second place in the supersprint. 20 March is a rest day for the biathletes. The men’s mass start and women’s relay are scheduled for 21 March. On the final day of the Russian Championships in Tyumen, 22 March, the women’s mass start and men’s relay will take place.
