Belarus celebrate third win at IIHF World Men U20 in Germany

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Belarus blanked Austria 5-0 to make it three wins in a row in Division I Group A of the ongoing IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship in Fussen, Germany, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Deryabin, Vladimir Alistrov (twice), Igor Martynov, and Ivan Drozdov scored for the winning side.

Earlier, Dmitry Kravchenko's men beat Norway 5-3 and France 6-2.

Belarus tops the standings with nine points. It is followed by Germany (8), Norway (3), Latvia (3), France (3), and Austria (1).

Belarus next play against Germany on 13 December. The hosts of the tournament have not lost games so far, but have one point less than Belarus due to a 3-2 shootout win against Austria. Belarus will complete its performance in Fussen on 15 December against Latvia.
