MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) - BATE Borisov defeated Poland's Piast Gliwice in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on 17 July, BelTA has learned.
In the return match Belarus' champion came from behind to defeat the Polish team 2:1 in the municipal stadium in Gliwice.
The first goal was scored by Jakub Czerwinski (21) from Piast Gliwice. The Belarusian team managed to take the lead 15 minutes before the end of the game when Hervaine Moukam converted a penalty (82). Five minutes later BATE's Zakhar Volkau scored the winning goal.
In the second qualifying round BATE Borisov will face Rosenborg (Norway) that defeated Linfield (Northern Ireland).
The first match against Rosenborg will be held in Borisov on 24 July, the second match is scheduled for 31 July and will take place in Trondheim.
