Azarenka victorious at 2019 World Tennis Challenge

MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Victoria Azarenka battled past Canadian Eugenie Bouchard at the World Tennis Challenge exhibition tournament in Adelaide, Australia, BelTA has learned.

Victoria Azarenka who played for Team Leconte won the first three-set match 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. Next week Victoria Azarenka and Eugenie Bouchard will take part in the first Grand Slam of the year - the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Japan's Shuko Aoyama lost to the Japanese duo of Miyu Kato and Makoto Ninomiya 3-6, 4-6 in the 1/8 final of the Apia International Sydney.

Belarus' Vera Lapko and Erin Routliffe of New Zealand lost to another international duo Dalila Jakupovich and Sabrina Santamaria (Slovenia/USA) 7-5, 0-6, 11-13 in the Hobart International 1/8 finals.
