MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Belarusian freestyle wrestler Aleksandr Hushtyn (97kg weight category) won silver at the 2019 European Wrestling Championship in Bucharest, Romania, BelTA has learned.
In the final the Belarusian lost to 2016 Rio Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia 1-3. Bronze medals went to Georgia's Elizbar Odikadze and Nurmagomed Gadzhiev of Azerbaijan.
Competing in Romania are more than 520 athletes from 38 countries.
Wrestling makes part of the 2nd European Games. Athletes will compete in 18 medal events at the Minsk Palace of Sports in June 2019.
