"On Point"
MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko thinks more about peace in Ukraine than those currently leading that country, Ukrainian MP Artem Dmitruk said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“It turns out that the one who really thinks about peace in Ukraine is Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko. It would seem paradoxical: the president of Belarus cares more about peace in Ukraine than those who seized power there,” said Artem Dmitruk.
To support his words, he recalled the Belarusian president’s statement regarding the Board of Peace, which was initiated by the USA. Earlier, the Belarusian head of state expressed hope that this organization would help bring peace closer in Ukraine. “Even now, Aleksandr Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] says that this format could also be applied to the issue of the Ukrainian crisis,” Artem Dmitruk emphasized.
He also recalled that, according to various polls, Aleksandr Lukashenko had one of the highest levels of political trust in Ukraine until 24 February 2022. “Today, the level of trust in the president of Belarus is growing,” the MP added.
