Presidential Sports Club head presents awards to Snow Sniper medalists

MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – Head of the Presidential Sports Club Dmitry Lukashenko took part in the awards ceremony following the first day of the finals of the Snow Sniper national biathlon competition, BelTA has learned.

The sprint event on 13 February saw boys and girls battle for honors in three age categories. Minsk city and Brest Oblast led the medal tally with five medals each: Minsk posting two golds, one silver and two bronzes, while Brest took three silvers and two bronzes. Vitebsk Oblast athletes claimed four podium spots (two golds, two bronzes). Gomel Oblast secured one gold and one silver, Mogilev Oblast took a single gold, and Minsk Oblast earned one silver. Each medalist received a medal, a cup, a gift and prize money.

On 15 February, young biathletes will compete for medals in mass starts and mixed relays in Raubichi. The program features nine races, with the first starting at 9.00 a.m. and the final at 2 p.m. The Snow Sniper national biathlon competition for children and adolescents under the auspices of the Presidential Sports Club has been held since 2007.
