MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich has made it to the main draw of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai with a prize fund of $4 million, BelTA has learned.
In the second qualifying round match on 14 February, the Belarusian world No. 114 defeated Britain’s Sonay Kartal (world No. 50), 6-4, 6-3. The encounter lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes.
On 13 February, Aliaksandra Sasnovich also defeated Croatia’s Petra Marčinko (world No. 69) in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
The competition in Dubai will conclude exactly one week from now, on 21 February.
