NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – The opposition in Belarus is trying to replicate the Orange Revolution, Ukrainian political analyst and philosopher Mikhail Minakov told the ONT TV channel.
“The opposition in Belarus is trying to reproduce the Orange Revolution. However, Belarus is a far cry from Ukraine. People are much wealthier; the income gap is much smaller. This is a protest of wealthy people. Belarusians have much to lose,” Mikhail Minakov said.
According to him, some European analysts, especially those from France and Italy, are trying to compare the ongoing developments with the Arab Spring. The Ukrainian expert recalled the aftermath of those events. “It did not bring more freedom. The Arab Spring led, among other things, to civil wars and self-destruction of certain political communities,” he underlined.
