MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – The XXXII International Cyril and Methodius Readings will take place in Minsk on 25-26 May, BelTA reports citing the official website of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
This year’s readings will be themed “Women in the History of Slavic Writing and Culture.”
Conference participants will explore a wide range of topics: the legacy of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk in the modern world; the figure of St. Righteous Sophia, Princess of Slutsk, in the context of her era; the prayerful feat of Blessed Valentina of Minsk; women’s monasticism in the history of the Orthodox Church; the role of women’s ministry in the history of the Orthodox Church in Belarus; women’s role in the formation of Belarusian statehood; as well as issues related to church history, religious studies, biblical studies, theology, and science.
Representatives of the academic and cultural communities, heads of educational institutions, teachers, students and postgraduate students from secular and religious educational institutions, as well as members of the clergy, are invited to participate. Participation is available in person, online, or remotely (poster presentation).
To participate, applicants must complete the online form and submit the text of their presentation, indicating the thematic area, by 23:59 on 15 May. A collection of conference materials is planned for publication following the event.
