Kurdish refugees beaten by Polish security forces found at border

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – The Kurdish refugees beaten by Polish security forces were found at the border, reads a statement posted on the website of the State Border Committee of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“On the night of 10 November, four injured men, ethnic Kurds, were found in a makeshift refugee camp on the Belarusian-Polish border. Everyone has injuries and signs of physical violence. According to the refugees, they were detained on the Polish territory where they tried to ask for protection and refugee status. Judging by the numerous injuries on their bodies, Polish security forces beat people up and forced them out to Belarus over a barbed fence on the border," the committee said.

The injured people were provided the necessary assistance, the committee noted.
