MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Italy's Carabinieri Force is planning to cooperate with Belarusian forensic experts, BelTA learned from Belarus' State Forensic Examination Committee press service following a visit of a delegation of the Carabinieri Anti-Counterfeiting Command of the Italian police to Minsk on 16 May.
The delegation studied the structure and activities of the State Forensic Examination Committee, its history and development, and visited laboratories for research of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors, oil products, materials, and substances as well as ballistic test laboratories.
The Italian delegation took a particular interest in the laboratory for technical examination of documents and banknotes. The laboratory staff demonstrated equipment used to verify documents and banknotes authenticity which includes microscopes, latent image identifiers, and video spectral comparators.
The parties also discussed major cooperation areas and confirmed commitment to promote efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation in forensic examination.
