Ukrainian MP: Zelensky is unable to cope with blackouts in Ukrainian cities

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Vladimir Zelensky is unable to cope with the blackouts in a number of Ukrainian cities, Ukrainian MP Artem Dmitruk said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Unfortunately, today in Ukraine, people continue to die both on the front lines and in peaceful cities. In cities with millions of residents - Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa -people are dying from cold and hunger in their own apartments,” Artem Dmitruk said. “Today people in Kiev, are forced to dig a pit to use as a toilet.”

According to the MP, restoring order in Ukraine's housing, utilities, and energy sectors will take years. “With the current leadership in place, it is technically impossible. We understand that what is needed is not restoration, but essentially the recreation of these networks. This applies to electricity and water supply. The situation is catastrophic, horrific. Zelensky is incapable of handling this, neither now nor later. It is an enormous task, and it certainly will not be accomplished by Zelensky,” he asserted.

Artem Dmitruk noted that instead of restoring Ukraine's infrastructure, the country's leadership continues to embezzle funds. “Of course, they are neither able nor capable of working in the real sector. This situation did not arise just now. It began even before 24 February 2022,” he added.
