MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – The neo-colonial practices of the West will disappear from the economic and political agenda, Igor Korotchenko, Russian journalist and military expert, editor-in-chief of the Russian National Defense Magazine, said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
Igor Korotchenko pointed to the recent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in China's Tianjin. In his opinion, the SCO events demonstrated that there will be no more hegemons in the new global world.
Speaking about the new poles in the emerging multipolar world, the expert mentioned the People's Republic of China. “China is one of the leaders of the new world today. Both Belarus and Russia are bound with China by effectively developing cooperation and partnership,” Igor Korotchenko said.
The expert also noted other influential powers of the new multipolar world. Among them, he named states such as Brazil and India: “We all want a new world order where we will be respected. The old methods of neo-colonial practice [of the West] will disappear from the current political and economic agenda of the modern world.”
As previously reported, the Tianjin summit became the largest in the entire history of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
