MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) - Europe is turning into a semi-periphery of the world system, director of the Institute for Systemic and Strategic Analysis Andrei Fursov said in V Teme [On Point] on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Andrei Fursov identified what he calls the “descent of Europe into a state of semi-periphery within the world system” as one of the most significant current events, or more precisely, trends.
“This is a matter of interest to both the British and the Americans. That is, it is a common Anglo-Saxon interest. The British did not leave the European Union in order to share in all the problems it is now experiencing, although they are certainly facing a whole set of problems themselves,” the historian said.
Andrei Fursov cited the European migration crisis as one of such problems.
