"On Point"
MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – US President Donald Trump intends to reindustrialize America, in part by attracting companies and production capacity from Europe, Bulgarian political analyst Plamen Paskov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Plamen Paskov explained: “Donald Trump says: ‘Make America Great Again!’ But what does that exactly mean? Trump said they need to reindustrialize America, bring enterprises back to the USA, and create jobs for Americans.” He continued: “Okay, enterprises will be brought back to the USA, and Americans will get jobs, but what will be the cost of goods manufactured in the USA? The cost will be higher than that of goods made in China or Europe. The question will arise of where to sell them, because the prices will not be competitive.”
Consequently, the political scientist argued, to solve this problem, the USA would need to eliminate its competitors by destroying Europe’s technological potential. “Europeans who want to remain in the manufacturing sector must move to the USA. Those who don’t will go bankrupt. What is produced in America should not be produced in Europe. Technological competitors must be exterminated, which is already happening,” Plamen Paskov said, outlining what he sees as the American leader’s logic.
