Call for more active working youth engagement in Belarus

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – We should engage the youth in projects more actively, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said as he met with activists of youth trade unions. The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus Mikhail Orda, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry.

“Members of youth trade unions are eager to take an active part in the life of the energy sector enterprises and we should support this,” Viktor Karankevich said. “During on-site meetings at enterprises, we discuss promising projects and important technological, financial, and social matters. We believe that the youth should be more engaged in these projects and in the work to address such matters,” he added.

Support for high-achieving young specialists is among priorities of the Belarusian energy industry. “We constantly analyze the work of trade union activists: how they cope, whether they get assistance from top managers. This is very important for us because the youth are our future. The more we engage them today the better they will fare in the future,” Viktor Karankevich stressed.

The minister told the participants of the meeting about the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant and its integration into the country's power grid. He also answered the activists' questions about support for young specialists' initiatives, working conditions, advanced training and experience exchange opportunities.
