Big Tourism Week kicks off in Minsk

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) - The Big Tourism Week has kicked off in the Belarusian capital, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Union of the Tourism Industry.

11 April will see a series of key events for the hospitality industry at several venues in Minsk. The main events will be the 4th Belarusian-Russian Tourism Congress, the Travel Hub Commonwealth, and the 28th International Travel Fair Holidays‑2026. Experts will discuss the development of the industry, exchange their views and identify areas for cooperation. Until 9 April, participants will also have the opportunity to visit Minsk museums for free.

The 4th Belarusian-Russian Tourism Congress and the Travel Hub Commonwealth forum will bring together representatives from 22 regions of Russia and also Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other CIS countries. Around 900 participants are expected, including high-ranking guests, industry experts, tour operators and hotel owners.

On 7 April, the program will begin with a flower ceremony at the Victory Monument and will be themed around patriotic tourism. A roundtable at the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War will be dedicated to CIS cooperation in preserving the memory about the war and educating younger generations. Following the discussion, participants are expected to develop unified standards for excursion work and historical interpretation. The goal is to develop common standards for guided tours and historical interpretation.

On 8 April, the focus will be on the tourism of CIS members’ industry strategy. Alongside the plenary session, there will be sectoral discussions covering tour operator activities, agritourism, active and eco-tourism, developing tourist routes and souvenirs, a forum for hotel industry professionals and a contact exchange.

The international travel fair Holidays 2026 will open on 9 April at the new venues - BelExpo National Exhibition Center in Minsk. According to the organizers, a tour fair by travel agencies will make its debut this year.

The event will bring together representatives of the tourism industry, specialized organizations, regions and foreign partners. It is traditionally seen as a platform for business networking, presenting tourism opportunities and building new contacts ahead of the summer season. The focus will be on promoting tourism services and routes, discussing industry trends, developing partnerships and presenting new offers for the Belarusian market. The program features business meetings, presentations and professional networking aimed at practical interaction among market participants.
