STARYYE DOROGI, 4 March (BelTA) – The inspection of the Armed Forces, conducted on the instructions of the Belarusian president, continues in the 8th Radiological, Chemical and Biological Protection (NBC Protection) Brigade, BelTA has learned.
The inspection will check the maintenance procedures for military and special equipment, as well as the condition of weapons and supplies. “In accordance with the head of state’s directive, we are inspecting the radiological, chemical, and biological protection brigade. Unique, highly specialized equipment is located here. New models of Belarusian-made equipment arrive here. Today, 14 equipment samples have been selectively taken out of long-term storage. The vehicles will undergo a 15-km control run. We will assess all of this as well,” First Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Neverovsky said.
Representatives of the State Control Committee also took part in the inspection on 4 March. “This is not the first inspection of such facilities. Today’s assessment is positive: the equipment is combat-ready and the base is well-maintained. We found no major issues with the property or military hardware,” Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee Maksim Aleshkevich noted.

Particular attention during the inspection is paid to the training of officers, especially at the junior level. “Officers who have graduated from the Military Academy demonstrate solid knowledge of the tactical and technical characteristics of their equipment and the ability to command personnel. There are certain issues with officers who were called up for military service. The command is aware of this and is conducting systematic work to train them,” Aleksandr Neverovsky emphasized.
The first deputy state secretary of the Security Council added that the inspection will continue. “As the head of state said, we need to know the real state of affairs in the Armed Forces,” he summarized.

As reported by BelTA, a large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces began on 16 January on the instructions of the Belarusian president. The primary goal is to see an objective picture, the real state of the troops, and to assess the actions of military personnel. This is precisely why the measures are of a sudden nature. A key feature of the inspection is its organization. The head of state puts military units into combat readiness, bypassing the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
