MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) - A delegation from the Belarusian investigative agency paid a working visit to Uzbekistan, during which Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Anatoly Vasilyev met with Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Aziz Tashpulatov, BelTA learned from the Investigative Committee of Belarus.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, the exchange of operational information, and the expansion of joint educational projects. “Constant operational exchange of information, knowledge, and practical experience at the international level helps strengthen law enforcement mechanisms, protect the security of our citizens, and ensure stability in society. We are ready to share our accumulated knowledge, existing practices, developed and implemented methodologies in the field of combating crime,” Anatoly Vasilyev said.
A separate topic was the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the agencies on information exchange and mutual assistance. The possibility of Uzbek colleagues joining the agreement on the procedure for the creation and operation of joint investigative-operational groups on the territories of CIS member states was discussed. In Belarus’ opinion, joint investigative-operational groups have already proven their effectiveness in investigating crimes committed by international criminal organizations in information and communication technologies.
Aziz Tashpulatov emphasized the strategic significance of the visit and its contribution to the development of professional cooperation between the two countries. “Today’s meeting is important for further strengthening the partnership between our agencies. The experience presented by Belarus, especially in the area of investigating crimes in the field of information and communication technologies, is highly sought after and holds significant practical value for our officers. We view this visit as a serious step toward deepening professional cooperation and developing new forms of collaboration,” he said.
During the meeting, the participants discussed practical aspects of investigating specific criminal cases.
