
MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) - A delegation from Belarus’ State Committee of Forensic Examinations visited the Academy of Forensic Science of the Justice Ministry of China in Shanghai on 16 May to study various forensic examination methods, the committee’s press service told BelTA.
The academy's head introduced the Belarusian experts to the institution’s history and its specialist training system.
“During the visit to forensic laboratories, the Belarusian delegation explored various forensic examination methods, including forensic medical, ballistic, technical, criminalistic and other analyses. They also learned about modern research directions and the practical implementation of new technologies in forensic activities,” the press service noted.
According to Chairman of the Belarusian State Committee of Forensic Examinations Aleksei Volkov, the visit serves as a bridge for further cooperation between the two countries in forensic expertise.
The parties expressed interest in further cooperation, exchanging experience and ideas with a focus on practical interaction.
During the visit to China, the Belarusian delegation held a working meeting with Director of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau and Shanghai’s Deputy Mayor Yahong Zhang. The parties discussed prospects for comprehensive cooperation. Aleksei Volkov familiarized his colleagues with the capabilities of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations and the tasks the agency faces.
