MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ tourism industry is joining efforts with Russian partners to promote the tourism potential of both countries, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Union of the Tourism Industry of Belarus (NUTI).

On the sidelines of the Commonwealth Travel Hub forum in Makhachkala, the capital of Russia’s Dagestan, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the International Tourism Forum and the Belarus‑Russia Tourism Congress. The document was inked by forum head Yulia Zaykova and Chairman of the NUTI Board Filipp Guly. It provides for the exchange of analytical information, the joint organization of forums and conferences, and the promotion of tourism initiatives.

According to Yulia Zaykova, the consolidation of the two platforms will bring together representatives of government, business, industry associations, educational institutions, and the media. “We are confident that this memorandum will provide a solid foundation for implementing joint projects and strengthening cooperation in tourism and the creative economy,” she said.

Filipp Guly noted that the signing of the agreement is an important step toward creating a sustainable platform for promoting the tourism potential of CIS countries and strengthening business ties between professional communities in Russia and Belarus. “For Belarusian tourism and for the development of tourism within the Union State [of Belarus and Russia], this is a significant step. It formalizes cooperation between professional platforms, which have gained particular importance after the [Covid-19] pandemic. Our task is to make the April Tourism Congress in Minsk as effective as possible, and we believe that Travel Hub will be a worthy partner and ally in this work,” he emphasized.
