MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – Our advanced scientific developments, which have been implemented in such sectors as agriculture, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, microelectronics, healthcare, and energy, are recognized by the global community and have broad practical use, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said during the meeting of the scientific community dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science, BelTA has learned.
“The Belarusian land has always been famous for its talented scientists. We have managed to preserve this legacy and also significantly increase our country’s scientific potential, thanks to the attention given by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the development of Belarusian science. We are proud of these achievements. Our advanced scientific developments, which have been implemented in such sectors as agriculture, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, microelectronics, healthcare, and energy, are recognized by the global community and have broad practical use,” Viktor Karankevich said.
The deputy prime minister congratulated the country’s scientific community on behalf of the Belarusian government on the Day of Belarusian Science. “I would like to thank all those who have dedicated their lives to this significant area for your professionalism, dedicated work, and devotion to your cause. I would like to extend special words of gratitude and recognition to the veterans of the scientific area and the honored scientific figures for your experience, knowledge, and mentorship,” he noted.
The event is taking place at the BelExpo National Exhibition Centre. More than 500 representatives from the scientific community and experts have been invited to attend. Participation also includes university rectors and teaching staff.
Viktor Karankevich presented awards: honorary certificates of the Council of Ministers and acknowledgements from the prime minister.
Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Matusevich delivered the welcoming address on behalf of President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
