Belarus ranks 17th in global IQ ranking

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – In 2026, Belarus ranked among the top 20 countries in the world in terms of intelligence, BelTA learned from the official International IQ Test website.

The updated global average IQ ranking at the start of 2026 was based on the results of more than 1.2 million people who took the IQ test in 2025. This included a total of 137 countries. The average benchmark IQ score was set at 100.

According to the study, Belarus ranked 17th with an average score of 101.05, which is above the global average.

Belarus also significantly outperformed its closest neighbors. Lithuania ranked 30th with 99.95, Poland – 40th (99.14), Latvia – 43rd (99.01), and Ukraine – 84th (95.66).

The global leader was the Republic of Korea (106.97), followed by China (106.48) and Japan (106.3). Iran (104.8) and Australia (104.45) also made the top five, while Russia ranked sixth (103.78).
