Belarus’ parliament speakers arrive at Russian Embassy to sign condolence book

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova and Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Igor Sergeyenko, as well as Chairman of the House of Representatives of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh convocations Vladimir Andreichenko have come to the Russian Embassy to leave messages in the condolence book in connection with the deadly terrorist attack in Moscow Oblast on 22 March, BelTA has learned.

Speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament Natalya Kochanova emphasized that it was with deep pain that members of the Council of the Republic learned the news of the heinous, bloody terrorist attack. “

“This massacre shocked and devastated the whole of Belarus. The grief, tears and sadness prompted Belarusians to arrange numerous spontaneous actions of solidarity and walls of sorrow, express heartfelt support. There cannot be any justifications for this monstrous crime against humanity. The perpetrators must get a well-deserved punishment,” reads the message in the book of condolences. “We mourn the victims of the terrorist attack and hope for a speedy recovery of the injured. In this difficult time, we wish everyone fortitude, strength and courage. Belarus stands with you!”

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Igor Sergeyenko addressed sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. “Belarusian deputies, just like all of Belarus, were devastated by the news of the monstrous terrorist attack in  Crocus City Hall in Moscow Oblast that left many people dead, including children. At this difficult time, together with the Russians, we are overwhelmed with feelings of grief and compassion. We  condemn in the strongest terms the murder of civilians and declare that there can be no justification for terrorism. We are convinced that all those responsible for planning, organizing and carrying out this barbaric crime will suffer inevitable punishment.”
