MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Defense Minister of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin has been awarded the Order of Playa Girón, which was approved by the president of Cuba. The defense minister noted that this is the acknowledgement of everyday work of the entire military personnel of the Belarusian army, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
The Defense Ministry remarked that the order is conferred upon Cuban citizens and foreigners, heads of state and government for outstanding achievements in the fight against imperialism and reactionary forces, for services to the armed forces and great achievements in the name of peace and progress of humankind.
“I believe that, first of all, this is the acknowledgement of everyday military service of the entire personnel of the Belarusian army. I am aware of the highest level of responsibility that comes with this award. I want to assure you that we will make every effort to ensure peace and security,” Viktor Khrenin emphasized.
