Belarus' coronavirus patients in satisfactory condition

MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – The people who tested positive for coronavirus in Belarus are in satisfactory condition, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.

“They have no complaints or fever. Proceeding from their condition, they could be discharged from hospital right now, but in line with the protocol they should test negative two times to be able to leave the hospital. If two swab tests show no virus RNA, the patients will be discharged on weekends or the beginning of next week,” the press service said.

Ninety-one people who came in close contact with the coronavirus patients remain under medical surveillance. The press service noted that all the students of Belarusian National Technical University put into quarantine feel well. Their tests have shown no coronavirus RNA so far.

Six students and a teacher who showed symptoms of a viral infection were discharged from hospital. Their tests for coronavirus came back negative.

If no other students test positive for the infection, the university will be able to resume normal work next week.

The Healthcare Ministry keeps working to curb the spread of the virus in Belarus. As of 5 March, 1,322 people who arrived from at-risk areas remain under medical supervision. Some 1,135 people have been medically cleared as they developed no symptoms of a virus and the incubation period had passed.
