MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The radiation situation in Belarus and in the area of effect of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant remains stable, BelTA learned from Oleg Dyubailo, head of the radiation monitoring service of the National Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Pollution Control and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus.
“The data obtained by radiation monitoring facilities and automatic radiation monitoring centers in the Chernobyl NPP area of effect suggest that the radiation in the country and in the area of effect of the Chernobyl NPP is stable,” Oleg Dyubailo said.
According to him, the gamma radiation rates are within the established long-term parameters. Nothing that would indicate changes in the radiation situation has been reported.
