Lukashenko: Focus on preserving the nation’s intellectual potential in Belarus

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated scientists, workers of scientific research institutes and higher education institutions on Belarusian Science Day, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.

The message reads: “Domestic science is rightfully considered a strategic resource for advanced development and a most important pillar of the national economy and the society. Thanks to the high professionalism of Belarusian scientists, significant successes have been achieved in the fields of outer space and aviation, microelectronics and nuclear energy, healthcare and pharmaceutics, biotechnology and smart agriculture. It is a serious stimulus for moving forward.”

The president noted that today the scientific community faces tasks related to the implementation of priority directions of scientific and innovative efforts, the promotion of interdisciplinary research, and the introduction of cutting-edge technologies into practice. “However, the main emphasis is on preserving the intellectual potential of the nation and strengthening technological sovereignty, which in today’s reality serves as the foundation for the country’s independence and competitiveness,” the Belarusian leader pointed out.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that accumulated experience, continuity, and a clear focus on specific results will enable Belarusian science to achieve the goals that have been set.

The head of state wished the representatives of the scientific community good health, happiness, and new scientific discoveries for the benefit of native Belarus.
