Lukashenko encourages Belarusian schools to consume more quail eggs

SOLIGORSK, 3 October (BelTA) – During a working trip to Soligorsk District, Minsk Oblast Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko went on a tour of an innovative quail farm and gave instructions to consider broader use of quail eggs, including as part of school meals, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “We’ve discussed the matter of eating more eggs. Inna [Tolkacheva, Director of Soligorsk Poultry Factory] said she wouldn’t mind if schools bought more eggs. And she cited Japan as an example of where people do it. We should look into it starting next year. Why not? It turns out she sells boiled eggs without shells.”

It was noted that nutrition qualities of quail eggs exceed those of chicken eggs by a third.

“All the reporters must eat quail eggs,” the president said with a bit of humor.
